Thai culture

Culture has a deniable role to make every language

It is interesting to know that pretty much  always there is another version of all vocabularies in Thai language depends on who you are talking to or the level of  pliantness you wish to use

For example for a simple verb like "to eat" there is  4 versions

If you speak to king
if you speak to a monk
in a formal conversation
in daily life

Well i thing we don't have to be worry about the first and second but the tow last are important and you will be confused if you don't know them in some situations.
customers for instance are important in Thai culture so you might hear the formal words
during your conversations in a Thai restaurant while in another one they might use the daily vocabs and make it polite just by adding polite particle at the end of their sentences

Another example to see how the Thai language is influenced by culture is the word   "Food"
As a Thai language student i know the Thai word for "food" and when i say "i am going to eat food " there is no problem for Thai people to understand me but the problem is when they say the same sentence they would say " i am going to eat rice " instead .
here we can see how the importance of Rice in Thailand's culture and life  has changed
the speaking way of saying sth that there is already a word for and because of the same reason the expression "have you eat rice already" is a popular greeting way which works
like hello or how is it going etc
